Day 39: Write a haiku about something that happens to you today or is in the news today. Illustrate it!


Hannah: In the news today: Obama releases his birth certificate. Not the most amazing Haiku...but enough already, let's talk about real issues.

Rachel: Hai -who??? kidding. I know, this is a poem. But Wikipedia shed a lot of light on all the details of Haiku poetry... and google translate told me that my Haiku means: "A mess in the kitchen. Doctors blame everything on dust." Or maybe it's: "Kitchen chaos. All physicians dust blame”. Anyway,this is my haiku about how I didn’t get my housework done today, but I did see a specialist who charged me 150 Euros and determined that the reason I never got over my bronchitis/rhinitis is because I’m allergic to dust. Hopefully our friend Reno will check to see if this makes any sense! Here is my haiku in Japanese--I think it has 17 'on' divided in 5/7/5:
キッチンの混乱
医師はすべての
粉塵を非難

    That is gorgeous Hannah!!!

    I tried to get my 17 morae figured out in Japanese instead of English. I think I complicated things a little!

    And no, I did not watch the news today :(

    Hi this is Ester. I have been looking at all of them and they are really amazing! Iam suprised you both had enough time to do it especially taking care of children! My favorite one was !pretty much all of them!

    I love this whole idea girls and I am excited to show Ester now as many days as I can. I am glad I remembered today to show her after school. She is excited to follow you girls through this year. I am considering doing something like this with Ester through the summer but I am afraid to promise. But it will be exciting to watch you girls! LOTS OF LOVE to both of you

    Thank you Ester! I just love art and think it fun. I do it with my kids most of the time. I do think you should try a summer creativity project!

    Thanks Ester! It is pretty hard to find time actually! I pretty much get behind several times a week... I just have to learn to think of simpler projects. You could make these things any time when you need a project to do! I'd love to see what you make! Send me pictures. Love you
