Day 38: Make something in water

Rachel: A bean/spelt tree, which will end up being tomorrow's lunch.

Hannah: Pink-haired girl swimming. I drew on a plastic sheet with Sharpies and threw in a few rocks (and a geode). She looks cold with the gray colors behind...I think she needs blue sky and sunshine!

  1. Yo Harley! Want to hear more from you. Rachel, I love the soup tree; it must be true that form follows function. The pink girl swimming reminds me that an office fishbowl would be interesting. You girls bring sunshine to me!

  2. Beautiful Hannah. So funny, all day I was thinking of a way to cut up plastic bottles and make some kind of formation inside the water, but I couldn't figure out what kind of paint I could put on them that would hold up in the water. Now why didn't I think of a Sharpie???
So late at night, I opted for beans instead :(-
Your bowl/vase has a gorgeous shape. The cold grey sky adds an interesting element to the whole thing!!!

  3. I am getting inspired! Really lovely ideas! Rachel, just think, you can find beauty at home everyday through this project. This is the kind of joy we all want but forget to find. All that "take time to smell the roses" advice and stuff :) I couldn't do it by myself. You are both blessed!

  4. Well said Mom. That concept is what keeps me going. It really helps (both of us I think) to be doing this together! Otherwise, seriously, I'd never get to do something like this. When you take something this big on alone you can easily get discouraged.
